Notice to collect public comments on the Third Party Vehicle Accident Insurance Contract and Compensation Implementation Guidelines

The Ministry of Transport and Logistics, in accordance with the authority granted by Article 22, Sub-Article 1 of the Third Party Insurance Proclamation No. 799/2005 and the provisions of Article 27, Sub-Article 3, has prepared a draft guideline for the implementation of emergency medical services for victims of vehicle accidents by the Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service.

According to the Proclamation No. 799/2005, victims of road accidents are entitled to free emergency medical services up to two thousand birr at all health facilities. Based on this Proclamation, the cost of emergency medical services amended by regulation No. 554/2016, increasing to fifteen thousand birr. For this purpose, a draft guideline has been prepared by the Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service.
