The Ministry of Health (MOH) organizes the health sector's Annual Review Meeting (ARM) following the end of every Fiscal year. The event brings stakeholders together to share their best experiences, celebrate successes, chart the sector’s future course, and set priorities. Accordingly, preparations to hold the 26th ARM are underway.

As part of the voluntary health service provided in winter, the launch program of biomedical engineers and technologists for the maintenance of medical equipment was held at the St. Paul Millennium Medical College in the presence of the ministers of health, the chief provost and management members of the St. Paul Hospital, as well as volunteers, importers and manufacturers.

Health Minister Dr. Mekdes Daba visited the expansion projects of Jimma University Hospital in Jimma city and the administration building which is nearing completion. The building will include a high-capacity data center and will be fully completed by next year.

Dr. Mekdes also toured the hospital's cancer center, research laboratory, intensive care unit, and other expansion projects.

The results recorded in the prevention and control of TB, HIV, malaria and strengthening the health system With the support of 453 million US dollars from the Global Fund, are encouraging

The projects were carried out at a time when our country was facing various problems such as covid-19, various conflicts and drought, but it was possible to use the fund to achieve encouraging results. A workshop was held to expand the results obtained and solve the problems encountered in a sustainable manner.

The Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureau and agency officials, support experts and other relevant stakeholders participated in the workshop.

In their discussion, the World Health Organization has announced that it will support measures to strengthen human resources development, health financing, regular vaccination services, and to control malaria and cholera in Ethiopia.


Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba stated that Ethiopia will work with the World Health Organization to ensure universal health coverage and further strengthen primary health care services.
