The Second Conference of International Pharmaceutical suppliers was held in Addis Ababa

Dr. Abdulkadir Gelgelo, Director General of the Ethiopian pharmaceutical Supply Service, said that the conference was held to attract pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers to the vast Ethiopian market and improve availability of pharmaceuticals supplies in Ethiopia.


Dr. Abdulkadir mentioned in his speech, “Because supply of medicine requires a mix of stakeholders and capital, there is a need to strengthen strategic partnership with suppliers.”

It is a good opportunity that Ethiopia is out of the list of 33 countries where drug-resistant TB is prevalent.

Dr. Lia Tadesse

The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadese, said that Ethiopia is working on the international drug-resistant TB prevention action plan. The Honorable Minister said this at the East Central and Southern Africa (ECSA) Annual TB Testing Laboratory Strengthening Forum. The Minister stated that the work done in the field of TB prevention in our country is showing an encouraging change and also mentioned that it is a good opportunity for Ethiopia to be out of the list of 33 countries where drug-resistant TB is prevalent in the world.

A full-day program jointly organized by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Labor and Skills has started at Minilik General Secondary and Primary School with various events on the occasion of September 6 Volunteer Day

Today, September 6, in observance of Volunteer Day, a program has been started to clean and beautify the educational facilities of Minilik General Secondary and Primary School in Arada Sub-city, as well as by trimming, weeding and taking care of planted saplings.

The 16th annual conference of the Ethiopian Orthopedic Physicians Association was held in Addis Ababa under the theme "Post-War and Orthopedic Medicine".

The State Minister of Health, Dr. Ayele Teshome, who was the guest of honor at the conference, said that the members of the association, both individually and as an institution, have contributed and are contributing to save the lives of the brave Ethiopian army members who are suffering from man-made and natural disasters, especially in war. He mentioned that Ethiopia is grateful for all their contributions.

It is necessary to focus on the identification, diagnosis and treatment of TB disease in children and young people, to achieve the plan set by the continuous development goal to prevent TB disease by 2030.

The Honorable Dr. Lia Tadese, the Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, stated this at the 72nd World Health Organization forum on the African continent, which is being held in Lome, Togo. She said that since the TB disease roadmap for children and young adults approved in Ethiopia in 2015 started to be implemented, the prevention and treatment of children and young adults from TB disease has improved.

Free health check-up and medical voluntary service under the motto "Goodness for our health" has been strengthened in the regions and city administrations.

The people-oriented voluntary action campaign, which was started to provide free health check-up and treatment services to more than one hundred thousand citizens in one week, has been continued in all regions and city administrations.
