Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba met with representatives of the Global Health Initiative, a coalition of partners including the Global Fund, Gavi, the Global Financing Facility, and the Gates Foundation, to discuss the implementation of the Lusaka Agenda.

The Lusaka Agenda - a conference that began in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day, and concluded with the Lusaka Agreement in Zambia.

The Lusaka Agenda is a long-term goal for countries to scale up their health activities; an agreement to work together around five key areas;

The Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba, who said that the Lusaka Agenda is paving the way for building a resilient and robust health system by supporting the five pillars; explained that it requires a coordinated and collaborative effort among stakeholders to achieve the transformation.

Ethiopia will share its experience of pooling the support it receives as a country under one fund, avoiding duplication of programs and creating synergies, with other countries
