Mr. Shambel Negassa Deressa currently holds the position of Institutional Reform Executive Officer at the Ministry of Health.
His career spans over three decades, beginning as a school director at Meta Kidanemihret Elementary School from 1981 to 1986 E.C. Subsequently, he served as a teacher at Dire Gudina Junior School and as secretary of the Chelia woreda teachers' association.
Mr. Shambel has held various administrative roles at the woreda level, including positions in public relations, finance, education, and capacity building. He served as the second chairperson of the Chelia woreda administrative body and has also held the position of woreda head (chairperson) in Mida Kengi and Chelia woredas.
From 2003 to 2013 E.C., Mr. Shambel was a member of the House of Peoples’ Representatives, contributing to national policymaking and legislation
