Roles and responsibilities
Overall, three major areas of roles and responsibilities are creating the platforms to deliver PHC services to accelerate progress towards UHC: impacting environmental determinants of health, HEP service delivery at community and Health posts, and service delivery at health centres.
Roles and responsibilities
- Support and follow the implementation of the Health Extension Program Optimization roadmap
- Design, implement, and follow up on Community Engagement and Empowerment
- Support the Woreda Transformation coordination and monitoring mechanism
- Follow and support regions in implementing the Primary Health Care strategic framework
- Design, implement,t and follow up on School Health Program Implementation
- Enhance & sustain the implementation of health center reform with the mechanism of close follow-up & monitoring system.
- Sustain & enhance the implementation of the Ethiopian Primary Health Care Alliance for Quality (EPAQ) as well as close follow up & monitoring
- Strengthen the implementation of the primary health care clinical guideline (EPHCG) through close follow-up & monitoring mechanism and with a developed dashboard reporting tool
- Improve the implementation of clean and Safe Health facility/Infection Prevention and Control in health centers(CASH/IPC) with the collaboration of clinical service and hygiene/environmental health directorate
- Implement and follow-up the quality improvement in primary health care services of the health centers with the collaboration of the health sector quality service directorate
- Implement and follow-up clinical communication Skills in primary health care services of the health centers, in collaboration with the health sector quality service directorate
- Design, implement, and follow up on Urban Primary Health Care reforms
- Prepare policies, strategies, guidelines, manuals, and SoPs for the program and coordinate and support their implementation.
- Strengthen institutional arrangement and implementation capacity for the program at all levels
- Mobilize and properly utilize resources for program implementation
- Conduct research for evidence-based decision
- Provide capacity-building supports for concerned stakeholders
- Strengthen and coordinate multi-sectorial and private sector integration
- Monitor and evaluate progress against targets
- Facilitate experience sharing and scaling up of good experiences.
