A Stanford Graduate School delegation met with Ethiopian Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba to discuss efforts to improve the country’s health care system and health outcomes.

The delegation visited Ethiopia’s Pharmaceutical Supplies Services and other health care facilities to gain a first-hand understanding of the country’s health infrastructure.

During the meeting, Dr. Mekdes briefed the delegation on the work being done to improve maternal and child health, as well as to build a strong health system; she expressed the government’s commitment to improving access to quality health care for all citizens.

Dr. Mekdes also outlined initiatives focused on strengthening various levels of service delivery, addressing the structure of Ethiopia's healthcare system. She highlighted the importance of community-based health programs and the drive to improve healthcare delivery in the country.
