State Minister of Health Ms. Frehiwot Abebe met with a team led by Yemeni State Minister of Health Dr. Ali Alwaldi, who has been exchanging experiences in the health sector in Ethiopia, to discuss primary health care and the implementation of community-based health insurance.
They noted that they have been exchanging experiences in primary health care and community participation in the Arbaminch region of Southern Ethiopia and the surrounding areas, and appreciated the work being done. In particular, the commitment and role of leaders at all levels in the implementation of health insurance is commendable. Yemeni State Minister of Health Dr. Ali Alwadi expressed his satisfaction with the development work being carried out in the country in addition to the wonderful experiences they gained in the health sector during this experience exchange.
He said that we will use the experience we gained in Ethiopia to strengthen the health system, as various epidemics occur in Yemen.
Noting that Ethiopia and Yemen have a long-standing relationship, State Minister of Health Ms. Frehiwot Abebe explained that our country started the implementation of community health insurance 10 years ago and the changes recorded in primary health care, as well as the recently approved health policy.
She assured that they will continue to support them with the necessary technical and professional support.
