Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

The M&E component aims to strengthen the M&E system at federal and regional levels and establish a system in all woredas. The objective is to:

  • Standardize M&E guidelines, harmonize supervision guidelines for RHBs and woreda health officers;
  • Regularly monitor progress and achievements of HSDP components as a whole and improvements in service delivery, quality of care and financial performance ;
  • Evaluate the impact, performance and cost effectiveness of all HSDP components

 

Various monitoring and reporting mechanisms have been instituted to achieve the M&E objectives. Some of the mechanisms include:

  • Joint Steering Committees (JSC), at both central and regional level, to oversee implementation have been established;
  • Regular reporting by regions and FMOH departments ;
  • Annual Review Meetings to serve as performance discussion forum and for sharing experiences between regions
