Legal Services Office

Both citizens and governments have a high expectation for public services. As such, public departments and agencies are under pressure to deliver high quality and responsive service to the public, provide competent advice to government officials as well as operate in an efficient, accessible and transparent way. The legal service department observes the new BPR as a strategy as a mechanism that eases decision-makings and operations of the Ministry, maximises flexibility of resources, as well as responsiveness to customers and to socio-economical changes in the country.

The Legal Services Office has three case teams:


Legal Document Preparation Case Team

The team is primarily concerned with laws, proclamations, regulations and directives, which enhance or protect all activities health sector. The primary task of the team is preparation of the legal documents, which involves attending/organising workshops, embracing best practice and collaboration with qualified experts.


Legal Consultation Case Team

Activities performed by this team are:

· Consultation with employees of the Ministry and customers regarding various legal issues.

· Develop comprehensive and brief contracts for the Ministry as well as understand incoming contracts.

· Seek cost cutting opportunities and improved services.

· Identify appropriate contracting methods to craft contracts based on length and type of partnership.

· Identify wide range of safeguarding mechanisms that can be used for non-performance and contract clauses.


Court Affairs Case Team

The court affairs case team focuses on the following issues:

· Analyse existing problems prior to implementing possible solutions

· Gain unique insight into latest update to civil and criminal procedures

· Enhance administration of justice and running of courts using the latest tools and techniques.

· Plan, monitor and evaluate the implementation of practical strategies in order to improve service effectiveness.
