The Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes daba, who discussed with the founder and owner of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, said that to achieve universal health coverage in Ethiopia, health and nutrition, informed decision-making, innovation, and SDG targets, MoH has established strong partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In the discussion with Bill Gates, the founder and owner of the Gates Foundation, senior government officials were present and the minister requested that the support be continued.
Bill Gates, who visited Ethiopia for the second time since 2018, also held talks with the state Minister of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma, and other officials. The discussion focused on improving the quality of data, using data for research and policy, and strengthening local capacity.
