The projects were carried out at a time when our country was facing various problems such as covid-19, various conflicts and drought, but it was possible to use the fund to achieve encouraging results. A workshop was held to expand the results obtained and solve the problems encountered in a sustainable manner.
The Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureau and agency officials, support experts and other relevant stakeholders participated in the workshop.
State Minister of Health, Dr. Dereje Duguma, who was present at the forum, thanked the Global Fund for the support and contribution of the Ethiopian government in strengthening the health system, especially in the prevention and control of HIV, malaria and TB diseases.
According to the State Minister, activities to prevent and control HIV, Malaria and TB diseases have been carried out with the support received from the Global Fund and results have been recorded by reducing morbidity and mortality.
At the workshop, an agreement was reached with the states, agencies and partner organizations on the direction to start the implementation of the next 440 million dollars projects quickly. The program was completed by awarding certificates of recognition to the institutions and working units that achieved excellent results in the last grant implementation.
