Under the coordination of the Ministry of Health, the 2024 free health check-up and treatment service at the national level has been launched at St. Paul's Hospital, Millennium Medical College and Eka Kotebe Hospital, and will continue throughout the summer in coordination with other stakeholders.

Minister of Health, Dr. Mekdes Daba, when she launched the voluntary service, said that this year's free health check-up and treatment will help citizens who cannot pay for treatment, and that the movement will be carried out on a national level with the guiding idea of "virtue for our health".

Dr. Mekdes Daba said that this year's voluntary activities of the Ministry of Health, unlike the previous programs, include the repair of broken down medical equipment and the planting of medicinal plants in our country, Ethiopia.

Voluntary service requires the participation of many parties besides the Ministry of Health, and the Minister thanked all the parties for their continued participation. She also called on the community to take advantage of the service for early health check-ups and treatment.

Chief Provost of St. Paul's Hospital, Millennium Medical College, Dr. Sisay Sargu, announced that the hospital plans to provide 30 types of examination and treatment services, and he stated that house renovation, nursery planting, environmental cleaning, and support will be provided for students by supplying them with learning materials, are included in the program.

Eka Kotebe Manager Dr. Full Day Tesfaye said, the hospital, in cooperation with each district and private health institutions will benefit 50,000 members of the community from free health check-ups and medical services.

Since the summer volunteering service requires the participation of many bodies in addition to the Ministry of Health; Dr. Mekdes requested that all bodies do their part. She also called on the community as a major stakeholder to take advantage of the service and do early health screening and treatment, and thanked the health professionals who are an integral part of the success of this good work.
