Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief Donates 12.5 million birr worth of medical supplies and equipment to Ethiopia

The Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse, received support from Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief Country Director Ryan Lane. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Lia said the US-based Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief has been supporting our country in various areas including drinking water supply and sanitation, Covid-19, and other emergency responses, and now have provided 12.5 million birr worth of medical supplies and equipment to Ethiopia. 
 
Dr. Lia said the support will significantly contribute to the ongoing rehabilitation work and that the medical equipment and supplies will be used to rehabilitate war-torn health facilities in the Amhara region. She thanked the donors not only for their support but also for their cooperation to start up the services through their technicians. 
 
Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief Country Director, Ryan Lane, said the donation was intended to provide health care to those affected by the war. He said he was very happy to be able to help the victims of the conflict and that the support would be strengthened. 
 
Director of the Health and Health-Related  Institutions Regulatory Directorate of the Amhara Regional State Health Bureau, Mr. Getnet Sentayehu, listed health facilities that were destroyed during the war in the region and thanked Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief and other organizations on behalf of the Amhara Regional Health Bureau for their donation.
