The Ethiopian Pharmaceutical Supplies Agency has started the distribution of drugs and medical supplies donated by members of the Ethiopian diaspora to health facilities impacted by the war. Benefiting from the latest disbursement started 11 Feb. 2022 are hospitals and health centers in Shoarobit, Ataye, Kemise, Kombolcha, and Dessie, all located in Amhara Regional State. The next round of distribution will target health facilities in Afar Regional State.
Receiving the donation, Dessie Hospital Manager Dr.Haymanot Ayele expressed appreciation for the donation by the Ethiopian diaspora. He said efforts are underway to bring the Hospital back to its pre-war capacity.
The resource required to achieve this objective is significant in light of the massive damage sustained by the Hospital, Dr.Haymanot said adding that the Hospital was in critical need of medical equipment and drugs for the treatment of terminal patients.
