Israel Donates Medical Equipment

The Government of Israel has donated medical equipment and supplies valued at about USD 30,000 in support of Ethiopia’s effort in the prevention and treatment of COVID 19. Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia, Aleligne Admassu handed over the donation to Minister of Health Dr.Liya Tadesse at a ceremony held on 14 Feb.2022.

Speaking at the event, Dr.Liya expressed gratitude for the support and said the material would complement Ethiopia’s COVID 19 prevention and control drive. Dr.Liya added that the two countries would continue their bilateral cooperation in the improvement of cardiological services in Ethiopia, rehabilitation of health facilities damaged by the war, and similar fields aimed at enhancing health service delivery in Ethiopia.

Ambassador Alelegne on his part said global efforts to control COVID 19 could only bear fruit if countries collaborate, and this latest donation was an expression of Israel’s commitment to this principle. He also said Israel would continue its longstanding cooperation with and support to Ethiopia.
