Nutrition Coordination Lead Executive Office Role and Responsibilities
- The new structure created in the Ministry of Health with three desks is the lead Executive body for food and nutrition implementation in the country. It’s one of the newly structured offices under the direct overseeing of the Minister.
- The major aim is to ensure optimal coverage and quality of essential nutrition-specific services at all service delivery points including using community, and informal platforms and using media outlets; coordinate intra and inter-ministry stakeholders towards achieving to end all forms of malnutrition.
- The Nutrition Coordination Office supports the preparation and implementation of food and nutrition policies, strategies, programs, and manuals; mobilizes resources and supplies; Leads the multi-sectoral and Seqota Declaration collaborative engagements.

Leads the preparation and delivery of nutritional services packages for pre-pregnancy, adolescents and young adults, pregnant and lactating mothers, and school-aged children (6-10 years). | To reduce the vulnerability of acute food imbalances and to provide a timely response; establish an early warning and screening system and monitor and evaluate its performance. |
