At the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, which is being held at the United Nations headquarters in New York; The United Nations Task Force on Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) has presented an award to the Ethiopian Ministry of Health.

It is recognized that Ethiopia is able to carry out integrated non-communicable disease prevention and control activities and provide community-based services; In particular, it is stated that it is for the results achieved in preventing cervical cancer.

A delegation led by the Ambassador of Israel to Ethiopia, Dr. Avraham Niguse, discussed with senior officials of the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Avraham Niguse, Israel's ambassador to Ethiopia, reminded that Ethiopia and Israel have a strong historical relationship. He said that the friendship between the two countries is stronger than ever.


The ambassador explained that the health sector is one of the most important sectors in which the two countries work together. He stated that support has been given to cardiology, pediatric intensive care and maternal health, as well as rehabilitation.

The 74th World Health Organization Forum on the African Continent continues in Brazzaville, Congo.


In the forum, it was stated that epidemics and other public health emergencies are occurring in Africa at various times and that they are a serious threat to the health of the community.


Remembering that Ebola, Covid-19 and other epidemics have caused great damage in the African region, she has raised the fact that the health risk of Mpox is especially worrying for Africa.

Ethiopia will continue to work in cooperation with the World Health Organization and other stakeholders on the African continent to have a healthy and productive Africa and will continue to strengthen the support it is providing.
