In their discussion, the World Health Organization has announced that it will support measures to strengthen human resources development, health financing, regular vaccination services, and to control malaria and cholera in Ethiopia.
Minister of Health Dr. Mekdes Daba stated that Ethiopia will work with the World Health Organization to ensure universal health coverage and further strengthen primary health care services.
She also mentioned that efforts are being made to build a strong emergency medical service centre in the region, including an emergency medical team, and to increase the human resources development of the entire health sector.
In addition, a cooperation centre for the World Health Organization is to be established; which will serve Africa and the rest of the world; she also said that work is being done to develop domestic production.
Dr. Tewodros also expressed his appreciation for Ethiopia's desire and capacity to produce domestic medical services resources, and for its active participation in international health regulation reforms.
